Our rooms were beautiful and unique. The beds were comfortable and clean. The family style meals allowed you to visit with guests from other places. From the fresh squeezed orange juice to the savory main dishes everything was tasty. The excursions we went on allowed us to talk to the locals and learn a lot more history than on an average bus tour. The horseback riding gave a daytime option and a night ride. The night ride was beautiful with the Howler monkeys serenading us, the stars twinkling in the night sky and the fireflies sparking like diamonds in the grass. Well worth the time and money. Great value for a memorable adventure. Each sightseeing trip was accommodating for handicapped and stopping to get

"Incredible place to stay. Jungle setting and beautiful grounds. Cabanas are private and spacious. Some have A/C. I would suggest staying in a Cabana, they are so nice. If you love horses this is a great place to be. John is a Montana Cowboy and horse whisperer. To relax there is a large pool. Food is excellent and meals are served at specific time so all can eat like family with John at the head of the table. Check out John's large collection of Mayan artifacts and check out Carolyn's paintings. Amazing. If that is not enough John has a Jaguar. The first Jaguar was rescued and died of old age. Because John took such great care of the first one, the government granted him permission to have another one. Enjoyed our stay,I highly recommend it."

Our two nights at Banana Bank were excellent. We utilized the pool, took a river cruise, and our favorite, rode horses through the jungle. The staff were all polite and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the owners, who graciously shared their story with us and made us feel at home. We are already planning our next visit! We enjoyed taking our meals "family style" and getting to know other travelers, and our two children (ages 8 and 9) really enjoyed the entire experience.

We stayed here mainly because of proximity to the airport (flew in late in the afternoon). Room was nothing fancy but for the price, perfect. The staff was very nice and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were family style, and both very good. Our 5 year old daughter spotted the horses so we signed up for a horseback ride the next day and she loved it. Sherman (the guide) let her ride her own horse but stayed with her the entire time to make sure she was okay (which she was... the horse they chose for her was perfect). We enjoyed our stay!
