John Carr is the owner of Banana Bank Ranch along with a partner.  The two of them, came to Belize in 1973 after reading an article in National Geographic entitled “Belize the Awakening Land”.  They bought the ranch two months later.  The rest is history as they say.  John is now 80 years old and still rides.  He will be the tour director.  This type of vacation can be structured to your time frame.

 

John has dreamed of older persons coming to Banana Bank to spend time being as active as they want to be or not be active and just enjoy being around horses and horse people. 

 

Banana Bank has a beautiful swimming pool and easy access to dining and accommodations.  Our horses are very well trained.  We have a horse for pretty much every kind of rider.  We are in a tropical jungle setting.  If you are tired of cold weather, crowds, traffic, noise, daily news, politics and pandemics, this is just the place for you.  If you want to ride when you feel like it or sit with your feet up and watch horses do what horses do, you are on the right trail. 

 

We have not set up an itinerary or a length of time.  You may come for the amount of time that suits your individual circumstances.  If you come for a week or three months, it can be arranged.

If you want to cook your own meals, do your own laundry
using the hotel machines, do your own cleaning and have
a rental vehicle, we will only provide your accommodation
and a very nice horse for you to ride with a guide.

If you want us to do all the above for you, that is also an
option. We will price your time with us according to your
length of stay and services provided. Wi-Fi is provided at
the office and pool area.

There is no age group that cannot benefit from a long term horsemanship program that is based on patience, kindness and consideration.

When planning to stay in Belize for an extended time, bring loose fitting, cotton clothing for warm weather and plan for rain comfortable rain jackets and hats.
